The Summer Entrepreneurship Program (Formerly “Take the Lead”) is designed on three ideals: Leadership, Entrepreneurship, and Creativity. The curriculum for the program is based on establishing real world skills to allow students to build on previous knowledge to prepare them for any role. Students are encouraged to offer suggestions on how they wish to learn so that they are involved in their education.

  • IDEATION

    Students will learn how to create a business idea based on life goals. They will pitch their ideas to the group and the group will choose the top 4 ideas to work on throughout the program. Students will join whichever idea best fits their goals and create teams.

  • TEAM DEVELOPMENT

    Students will discuss with each other their goals and talents so that the team can plan positions for each team member to capitalize on strengths and cover weaknesses.

  • CUSTOMER DISCOVERY

    Students will learn how to approach potential customers to gain insight on their proposed business model. This may include creating surveys, cold calling, and other mediums of soliciting their customer to design consumer-based analytics.


  • PRODUCT DEVELOPMENT

    Students will take the information they have gained from customer discovery and build their product based around customer expectations and solving pain points.


  • REVENUE

    Students will learn about supply & demand and basic business economics to create revenue streams. They will research their industry to evaluate their profit margins.


  • BRANDING & MARKETING

    Students will learn the psychology behind name creation and color schemes. They will come up with a name and design their logo. Students will learn marketing tactics for direct and digital marketing.


  • BOOTSTRAPPING

    Students will create budgets for their business and how they will obtain initial funding to get the business started.

  • PITCH COMPETITION

    Students will used everything they have learned create a business plan and pitch deck for their business to be presented at the Closing Celebration of the program.
